Barnabas' Ring
The Barnabas Collins Ring is one of the rarest DS collectibles. It's made of metal, with a fake onyx-like stone. It could only be purchased by mail, by sending in five DS bubble gum card wrappers and 50 cents. It was produced by Timco Industries in 1969.

It looks a lot like the prop ring Jonathan Frid wore as Barnabas, but it's actually a little nicer than the real thing. When I interviewed Jonathan in 1991, he told me, "All these fans now have expensive onyx rings, and the original on the show wasn't even onyx! It was a green, cheap, Woolworth's thing and they painted it black. It was a tacky old thing."

The ring was reproduced in 1998 and sold by MPI Media Group. It's being sold in a commemorative box -- but the 1960s version didn't come in any special container.

Special thanks to Ed Galm for photos of this hard-to-find object.
