Actor Louis Edmonds is best remembered for his popular soap opera roles on Dark Shadows and All My Children.

A revised, expanded edition of Big Lou was released in March 2003 -- two years after Louis' death. It includes an indepth look at Louis' career on TV and on the New York stage.

Beginning in 1948, Louis starred in dozens of stage productions with talented co-stars including Kaye Ballard, Sada Thompson, Conrad Bain, Dick Cavett, Carrie Nye, Brett Somers, and Jan Miner. Over the years, he consistently garnered good reviews.The New York Times' Brooks Atkinson called his performances "vivid" and "excellent."

On television, he worked from the 1950s to the 1990s, with Charlton Heston, Carol Burnet, Julie Harris, Joan Bennett, and many others. He was nominated for three Emmys.

While building this impresssive career, Louis overcame a number of obstacles--including alcoholism, cancer, depression, and prejudice against his homosexuality.
